WINNER OF THE VAA ART100 INTERNATIONAL AWARD 2025 - an inclusive international campaign celebrating the most promising and visionary artists from around the globe.

Helen Alice Johnson is a contemporary British artist whose vibrant semi-abstract paintings celebrate the profound connection between people and the natural world. Inspired by gardens, rivers and landscapes across Britain and France, she transforms moments of observation into expressive compositions of luminous colour, rhythmic pattern and geometric structure. Drawing on her research into sacred geometry, the Golden Ratio and the hidden patterns found in nature, her work explores the space between representation and abstraction—a place where landscape becomes both a physical experience and a contemplative one. Whether working in acrylic or mixed media, Helen creates paintings that evoke optimism, joy and a sense of belonging, inviting viewers to pause, reconnect with nature and rediscover the beauty and harmony that surround us.
