Find us this week at the fabulous Landmark Arts Centre for the Landmark Spring Arts Fair in Teddington, London. We are on stall 67 with a range of my original paintings, from the largest down to the smallest, so lots of affordable art. There are also many other fantastic artists and makers here so really is something for everyone. Please come along if you can. But this isn't where we started the week - in fact, we began our art journey this week literally in another country - with a trip to beautiful Scotland - specifically Kirkudbright in the South West of Scotland. Known as an artist's town, Kirkudbright has an inspirational bay and I spent the morning painting en plein air in Jock Bay, working in my sketchbook in readiness for my next painting of 2024.

Thank you so much to all of you who managed to get to my Open Studio last weekend. It was a fantastic three days, where we met lots of interesting people, old friends as well as several new collectors, with lots of original art works sold, from my largest paintings right down to some of my smallest pieces. Not to mention cards and prints too. There really is something for everyone and my Open Studios.

I am opening the door to my Studio this Bank holiday weekend with the lounge converted into a small gallery and lots of original artwork for sale for every budget. From affordable art to large original oil paintings, there really is something for everyone this weekend and we'd love to see you here in Alston Cumbria. I will be here for the three days beginning my next painting as well as welcoming visitors.

It’s been another busy week this week! No painting done at all - apart from Ian painting the walls! BUT, the gallery space is beginning to look amazing and paintings are being displayed ready for next week’s Open Studio Art sale. It would be fabulous to see you here. We Are All Made Of Stars - Oil on canvas. I'm delighted to announce that the oil painting of Ullswater in the Lake District is complete and I think it’s absolutely breath-taking! The beautiful blend of pattern and landscape, which is neither abstract nor representational, creates a unique aesthetic. Stay tuned for more of such captivating work in the upcoming months!

I'm absolutely thrilled with how this painting is shaping up! The way the pattern weaves through the earth and sky, connecting the spaces in between is simply captivating. It's a joy to see it come together.

I'm super excited to share with you that I've been pouring my heart into my latest large landscape painting, taking inspiration from the peaceful charm of Ullswater in The Lake District, Cumbria. It's been an amazing journey and it’s not over yet!

I spend the week this week painting a complicated geometric, Islamic 8 pointed star pattern as an underpainting for my next large abstract landscape inspired by Ullswater in the Lake District. I explain why I do this and why it matters to me in this short video blog of my week as an artist

Looking forward to a delightful Easter Weekend, aren't you? Don't be surprised by the deviation from my usual painting; I've been dabbling in a different kind of art! I took a break from the easel to create these beautiful, gilded hens eggs, a unique Easter gift for my friends that breaks the chocolate tradition.

I have been on the move again this week. Travelling from Alston to France, with a bit of shopping for paints along the way. I have been shopping for Acrylic paints to make abstract paintings and brought them back to my studio to try them out.
