This painting is of Rydal Mount, the home of William Wordsworth in Cumbria from 1813 to his death in 1850. In the grounds of Rydal Mount is a Norse Mound, and this view is from the mound. The rhododendrons at Rydal Mount are spectacular and I was keen to show a view that gave them centre stage. The original is in the Wordsworth Collection at Rydal Mount and Gardens, Ambleside, Cumbria
