River paintings
In 2023, Helen dedicated her creative practice to exploring river landscapes, with a particular focus on the Thames in England and the Seine in France. These iconic waterways became the foundation for a new body of abstract and semi-abstract paintings that reflects her deep engagement with place, movement, and memory. Through on-site visits, sketching, and observation, she absorbed the shifting light, textures, and rhythms unique to each river environment. The resulting works translate these impressions into layered compositions—blending natural forms, architectural elements, and fluid marks to evoke the emotional and physical presence of the riverscapes she encountered.
