This painting is inspired by a visit to Richmond Lock and Weir, where I spent a morning painting 'En Plein Air' on the Thames Path in Springtime 2023. The river bank seemed to have exploded with life and the weather was Spring like after a long winter. The weeds and grasses seemed to whisper in the wind as the river continued to flow, unperturbed by the intervention of mankind on its waters.
