About Helen Alice

Helen Alice Johnson is a professional landscape artist with a BA Combined honours in Visual Art and Art History as well as an MA in Contemporary Art Practice. She is a former Art Headteacher and is based in the breath-taking surroundings of Alston, Cumbria.

Her work is influenced by a love of life and of nature, which she expresses through the Sacred Geometry and exploring the harmony between people and nature, and her paintings reflect the layered beauty of the natural world.

With a rich history of exhibitions and a passion for teaching, Helen’s art explores how we can work together with nature to create a better, more harmonious world.

Growing up in Yorkshire, Helen went on to study Visual Art and Art History at Scarborough College of Art, where she was tutored under the renowned Clive Head before continuing her art education in Leeds with an MA in Contemporary Fine Art Practice.

Her educational career included collaborative works in Tate Modern working with Oxford University and the Charity The Art Room as well as developing an Arts Centre in Uganda.

More recently she divides her time between her studio in Alston Cumbria, and her French studio in Northern France, and her work often reflects this movement.
