In The Studio-Week 17
Join me this week as I visit a church in Corbridge to plan for an art exhibition in 2025, pack up a large oil painting for America and get ready for Open Studios in Isleworth, London. Another packed week but I managed to find a little painting time in amongst it all!
In The Studio - Week 16
This week I have continued to struggle with my large abstract painting inspired by Honfleur - with three versions on the go at the same time! I have also taken some time for some en plein air painting - always good to get out into the countryside, but it also puts me slightly out of my comfort zone - which would definitely be in the studio for me.
In the Studio -Week 15
This week I have a fellow artist join me in my studio as I continue to work on my large abstract painting based on visits to Honfleur and my friend has a week of en plein air and alla prima painting in the country lane in Northern France.
In The Studio Week 14
This week has been a busy week. I have been on a pilgrimage to the source of the Seine in France and followed this beautiful river as far as Troyes, before heading back to my studio and starting my large abstract painting inspired by a visit to Honfleur and the mouth of the Seine. I have also been updating the Available Works section of my website on www.helenalicejohnsonartist.com.
In the Studio: Week 13
Join me this week as I begin to get my head around the painting based on a visit to Honfleur much earlier in the year. This large abstract painting is finally beginning to take shape and I am looking forward to sharing the journey with you.

this week I am out and about. Apologies if the blog is not the usual standard, but it has all been done on the phone without wifi! The miracle of modern technology !
In the Studio: Week 11
This week I am out and about in the UK, attending a social event at Hallbankgate Hub, visiting Rydal Mount, home of William Wordsworth in the Lake District and dropping off a painting at AKA Contemporary Gallery in Cambridge. But I still managed to get time for some painting in the studio as I continue to work on my large abstract landscape painting inspired by Kew Bridge, next to Kew Gardens in London.
