Red Doesn’t Always Mean Danger
Acrylic on Canvas | Framed Size 44cm x 34cm
Inspired by a Lincolnshire Garden

This painting is inspired by my latest garden series, where I visit a garden and make a response to it in my sketch book, before bringing those sketches, along with photographs, back to my studio to work on the final piece on canvas. It creates a final painting that is as much about memory, atmosphere and feeling as it is about observation. I was delivering an online course of Painting The Summer Landscape and spent the early summer seeking out sunflowers and other images of summer for the course. I was particularly drawn to the red sunflowers.

This original painting is framed in a natural wooden float frame for a clean, contemporary finish that enhances the strong colour palette and architectural elements. The piece arrives ready to hang.
