We Are All Made of Stars Original oil painting

This painting is inspired by Ullswater Lake in the Lake District. Having spent a wet and windy afternoon there I used sketchbook work as well as photographs to create this final painting. The Islamic star pattern runs throughout the whole image and nods towards the Divine through Symmetry. The magnificence of the landscape is more than the sum of its parts, and my inclusion of pattern is a way of dealing with this majesty
