Session Breakdown:

Session 1: Looking and Seeing. Measuring and composing

• Using drawings throughout history to compare styles

• Looking at images through a mathematical lens

• Experimenting with mimicking the styles of the greats

Session 2: - Drawing v Sketching

• Discussion and demonstration on the difference

• Working on quality of line in a drawing

• Exploring shape

• Discuss and plan materials for future sessions and explore additional resources on YouTube.

Session 3: - Different materials for drawing

• Examining and experimenting with different materials

• Identifying qualities and downfalls in each material

Session 4: - Different techniques for shading dark and light/ negative space

• How to get the best from a variety of methods - e.g. crosshatching, blending etc

• Using only negative space to draw an image.

Session 5: - Final Touches and Completion

• Using the skills learned to make a final drawing.
